Imperial College Healthcare holds meeting on January 16 on controversial NHS reforms
The apparently innocuous change of administrative status of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is linked to other changes which have or will be foisted on NW London patients against their will.Imperial Trust (which runs Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte, St Mary's (Paddington) and Western Eye Hospitals) is currently "consulting" with the public about becoming a Foundation Trust. There is a booklet "Working in Partnership" and a questionnaire to accompany it. The first question is: "Do you agree with our vision and strategy for the future?" (which includes closing the A & E's at four out of nine hospitals in NW London, viz: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Ealing and Central Middlesex), so that gives you an opportunity to reply "NO". You don't have to answer any other of the questions which are about the structure of the board of the new Foundation Trust, etc....
