Hoardings outside the new store location reveal opening date
May 26, 2025
Marks and Spencer has announced it will be opening its new Fulham Broadway Foodhall in autumn.
The company has confirmed its takeover of 2-6 Fulham Broadway with messages on the site’s facade saying “Exciting news Fulham Broadway. Your brand new store is coming Autumn 2025.”
The site had been empty and the frontage blanked out since the sudden departure of Whole Foods Market in June last year.
The plans mean a comeback to Fulham for M&S, which has had two previous sites in the town centre. After closing its long established store in North End Road, it had a short lived presence in nearby Jerdan Place. However, it also closed in 2018, with the site since taken over by PureGym.
The company has already submitted applications to H&F Council to alter the existing shopfront and to install new signs. These applications, currently being considered by the council, are open for public comments and can be viewed on the council’s website using references 2025/01183/ADV and 2025/01182/FUL.
M&S confirmed its intentions to open the new store in Fulham earlier this spring, with Sacha Berendji, Operations Director saying: “London has always been a special place for M&S, growing from penny bazaars in the early 20th century into fresh Foodhalls like the one in Brixton we reopened last year.
“We serve thousands of customers in the capital across our full line offering in larger stores on Oxford Street, which are soon to be redeveloped, to food on the move in train stations and we are always looking at what we can do next.
“Our pipeline of stores demonstrates our continued investment in London, and we will continue to bring the very best of M&S to customers from Brixton to Barnet for years to come.”
The new store becomes one of three major projects underway around Fulham Broadway. The new JD Wetherspoon pub, which will use the area’s historic name Walham Green, has already announced plans to open in June on the site of Fulham Broadway Station’s former ticket hall, previously Fulham Market Hall.

Work is now underway fitting out the future Aldi supermarket on the site which was formerly home to Wilko, though no opening date has yet been announced.
