Hi allSome of you may have heard about Streetbank (http://www.streetbank.com/), a website that enables you to give away, lend or borrow items within your local community.Streetbank describes itself as a shared attic, garden shed, toolkit, fancy dress chest, DVD collection and skills bank. Through the website, members can contact other members in their area to make a request or respond to a request. It also acts as a local notice board by allowing members to contact other local members to publicise an event or place a more general notice. Anyway, if you don't already know about it, check it out! It's a brilliant way for neighbours to come together and it helps reduce our consumption at the same time... perfect.http://www.streetbank.com/Tess

We just gave away a tortoise hutch through streetbank - and have previously got rid of kids' DVDs and acquired gifts for our community association tombola. But it does requre a critical mass of people signed up - so Hammersmith where it all began, is great but its not so strong round our way. Not sure what it's like in Fulham.
