Hammersmith and Fulham's Arts Festival is Back this Summer

Local artists and groups invited to join in and make it a success

Hammersmith and Fulham's Arts Festival is back for second year this summer - and is inviting local artists and groups to join in.

After the outstanding success of the first ever ArtsFest held in June last year, outgoing chair Cathy Robertson says excitement is already building for this year’s festival, which is to be held from June 6 - 12.

" We’ve already got people coming back from last year, the momentum has already started," she says. " It's certainly going to be as big as last year and we’re focusing on bespoke events, which is what we think is going to make it very special."

Over 150 events, involving more than 360 artists, took place during last year’s week-long programme, half of which were bespoke. It featured drama, dance, music, art exhibitions, literature, tours and much more.

Now the organisers are calling on groups and individuals with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to sign up for this year’s event, which is supported by H&F Council.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact them as soon as possible saying they would like to join in, and be willing to carry the festival’s logo on their website.

Summaries of participating events of no more than 100 words should be sent to info@hf-artsfest.com by early March in order to be included in the festival’s programme and website for free.

Petrea Owens, previously the general manager of Albert and Friends Instant Circus and now a senior partner of Circus Arts Education, has taken over from Cathy Robertson as chair.

Cathy, who will remain on the board, says she is delighted with the new appointment and adds: "Trea will bring new energy and over 32 years of experience of running a charity and a variety of small arts companies."

You can see a full calendar of daily events during last year's Arts Festival on the Arts Festival's website.
