New Year Brings Flood of New Restaurants in Fulham

Offering menus from France, Italy, Greece, Lebanon and Africa

Afrika'N'Fusion will offer a mix of French and African cuisine in North End Road

As we start a new year, a flood of new restaurants are moving into Fulham, adding to the vast variety of cuisines on offer in our corner of London.

Here's where you will find the hottest new eating places in SW6:

Kalamaki Street Greek

Opening its doors this week at 49 Fulham Broadway, this newcomer promises modern variations of classic Greek street food dishes, including creative Souvlaki wraps, as pictured above. Food, says the restaurant: "Made slow. Served fast. We make real Greek street food. No greasy, unhealthy pre-made food, we’re all about fresh, tasty ingredients prepared right in front of you."

Among its specialities are Kalamaki skewers, chips, salads and sides, which can be custom built into a Spartan box. You can see the full menu here.

Jackson's of Chelsea

This Italian restaurant and cocktail bar opened in December at 448 - 450 Road, after moving into the site vacated earlier last year by Punjabi restaurant Dip in Brilliant.

Jackson's describes itself as: "A vibrant setting with gorgeous interior decor giving you the perfect place to relax and enjoy our impressive selection of fine Italian foods and specialty cocktails, wines and beers."

And, as it is situated just yards from Stamford Bridge, it adds: " For those football enthusiasts, we have the perfect spot for you to enjoy watching the match live on one of our 3 screens all whilst in the comfort of our trendy surroundings."

You can see its menu of traditional Italian dishes such as the Avocado Tricolore pictured above here and its menu of classic and signature cocktails, including the The Jackson’s Royal -
Stoli Salted Caramel, Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur, Champagne, gold dust and maraschino cherry - here.

Miski

Miski is nother newcomer, having taken over and transformed the building on the south east corner of Eel Brook Common by New King's Road, and specialising in authentic Lebanese cuisine and wine and a range of cocktails.

Miski was founded by Housam Eid, who came to Britain from the mountainous region of Lebanon. The restaurant's website says: " In 1995 Housam and family opened the first restaurant and within three years the family expanded their business by opening several restaurants in London, it was their goal to make Lebanese food just like their mother had made it.

"They have been able to recreate this experience making every meal a celebration of taste, texture and family values."

You can see Miski's range of Lebanese favourite dishes here and its drinks, including Jallab, a fruit syrup popular in the Middle East and Arak, the Lebanese national drink made from grapes distilled with anise for two years in terracotta amphoras, here.

More new restaurants are on their way in 2020. As we revealed last month, hamburger chain Five Guys is soon to open on he site all 11 Fulham Broadway recently vacated by rival chain Byron.

Next to open on North End Road is Afrik'N'Fusion a new launch for a chain already popular in France, fusing French and African cuisine, while in Parsons Green, the corner site which was formerly home to Boma is set to reopen as London's third branch of Cocotte, which describes itself as " a farm-to-table rotisserie offering healthy, delicious homemade dishes using fresh, farm-grown ingredients.

"All our free-range chickens are sourced from Evron, Pays de la Loire, France. The chickens are marinated for 24h in our secret blend of herbs and spices, then slowly cooked and finished on the spit.

"We also offer a fantastic choice of vegan and vegetarian dishes."
