As part of HFEH Mind’s 30 for 30K Campaign and Rocks Lane Active Minds programme, Rocks Lane Bishops Park to host Tuesday Tennis; free tennis session every Tuesday for all ages (16+ year olds).
Queen's Club Foundation are funding the provision of fully qualified LTA accredited Rocks Lane tennis coaches to support these free sessions for all skill levels.
The free lessons are open to participants of all levels over the age of 16 and are aimed at individuals either struggling with their mental health, those who could benefit from regular exercise and those who would like to meet new people and form community.
They are taking place every Tuesday from 10-11:30am at Rocks Lane Bishops Park and HFEH Mind’s Lillie Road Safe Space. The free tennis lessons will be coached by multiple tennis instructors, who will be on hand to teach participants of all skill levels the art of the great game, while promoting physical activity as a key foundation of overall personal wellbeing.
Participants of the free tennis sessions will also gain access to HFEH Mind mental health wellbeing literature, guides and signposting to relevant services in the area. Their trained staff will be on hand nearby at HFEH Mind’s Hammersmith & Fulham Safe Space, located just up the road at 309 Lillie Road.
Rocks Lane runs an all-inclusive sports facility and programme reaching out to all sectors of the community. It aims to enabling as many people as possible locally to participate in sport, whatever their background or circumstance.
Queen’s Club Foundation is the official charity of The Queen’s Club. It regularly delivers coaching sessions in the community, to people from all backgrounds and gives opportunities to play for people with disabilities.
Anyone looking for support on the day or simply wanting to find out more about mental health can drop in. Safe Space is a local hub for anyone who feels they are nearing crisis point, including carers. Once there, people are greeted by staff who are there to listen and help get users the support they need.
HFEH Mind’s Safe Space’s are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Anyone can drop into a Safe Space between 3pm – 7pm or can make an appointment to see them between 7pm – 10:30pm. Telephone or video conferencing appointments are available if unable to come in person while Phonelines are open from Midday – 10:30pm. For this partnership HFEH Mind’s Safe Space will be open for participants from 11:00 after they finish their free lessons should they need to drop in.
