Woman dies in second serious road accident this month
This is the second serious road accident in the area this month.
Police say at around 1.30pom on Tuesday, a van that was turning right
from Finborough Road on to Old Brompton Road, SW5 collided with a
female pedestrian.
The woman, who was in her early 70s, was taken to St Mary's Hospital but
died from her injuries that evening.
The driver of the van was arrested in connection with the incident and has
been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police add that the victim's next of kin have been informed, and an inquest will open in due course.

This is the second serious road accident in this area, on the borders of Fulham and Chelsea, this month. Police are also are urging witnesses to come forward following an accident in Kings Road involving a female cyclist and a lorry.
Following this accident, at the junction of Kings Road and Edith Grove, the 34 year-old cyclist was taken to St Mary's Hospital, and is still in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The 39-year-old driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was arrested on
suspicion of dangerous driving and subsequently bailed to a date in October.
Officers believe because of the time of the collision there may have been
many witnesses and wish to speak to them.
