Murder victim Ebrima Cham
A man from Netherwood Road, W14, has become the third to be charged with a murder in Hounslow on 19 December.
Emeka Dawuda-Wodu, 18 of Netherwood Road, close to West 12 Shopping Centre, was arrested on Friday, 10 January, and was charged with murder on Sunday 12 January.
The charge was brought in connection with an investigation into the murder of 35 year-old Ebrima Cham, pictured below, in Hounslow on Thursday, 19 December.
Ebrima, known to his friends as Brim, was staying with a friend in Grove Road Hounslow when he was fatally stabbed while he slept.
Scotland Yard said police were called to Grove Road at 11.30am, but despite the efforts of emergency services Mr Cham was pronounced dead a short while later. A post-mortem examination gave Mr Cham's cause of death as multiple stab injuries.
Two men, 39 year-old Simon Emmons and Zimele Dube, 31 have already been charged with the murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 68 year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed, while a 44 year-old man has been released with no further action taken.
In a statement, Brim's family said: “We are absolutely devastated. Our nightmare started having a detective chief inspector and family liaison officer sitting in our home breaking the worst possible news, that our beloved Brim has been so brutally killed.
“You read about murders in the news and you think, ‘It will never be us’, let alone when Brim should have been safe in a flat.
Emeka Dawuda-Wodu was due to appear before Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 January.
Detectives continue to appeal for information in relation to enquiries.
