Suspected of driving while unfit through drugs

Police officers from Hammersmith and Fulham were returning from an overnight operation in Westminster on Sunday morning (18 August) when they spotted the infringement.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was detained on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.

A further arrest for drug driving was made in the borough the following night after police exercised extra powers under a Section 60 order. This was requested after a teenager was the victim of a hit and run in the Sulivan Court estate in Fulham.

In an operation which focused on West Kensington and Shepherd’s Bush there were numerous weapons searches by officers from the Territorial Support Group.

In the Fulham area two section 60 searches resulted in drugs being found and weapons being confiscated from a vehicle with a male arrested for the drug drive offence. Another male was detained due to his immigration status.
