North End Road has a new zebra crossing following successful lobbying by a local residents’ association

It is located between the bus stops serving the West Kensington and Gibbs Green estate and the Maystar estate. It is also close to a medical centre and a pharmacy and the Maystar Tenants and Residents' Association had been raising concerns about the safety of pedestrians crossing nearby.

Michael Gannon, of the Maystar Tenants and Residents' Association, said: "We're delighted the council were so helpful in responding quickly to our concerns about pedestrian safety.

"The old crossing posed particular challenges for those with mobility issues, children and the elderly."

A formal oDecember 16, 2024chael added: "Residents are already very happy with the upgrade. Now they can cross the road, and the traffic has to stop, making walking around the area easier and safer."

H&F Cabinet Member for Public Realm, Cllr Sharon Holder, said, "We continue to listen and work with residents to improve road safety for local people. This is the latest example of how the council is doing things with residents to make H&F a safer place.”
