Council agrees to consult residents over different options
Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Cabinet has agreed,, as expected, at a meeting held on Monday December 1 to launch a consultation that will explore ways for residents in 12,500 council homes and 4,600 leasehold properties to have more say over how their homes are run.

The council says the process will assess the different options available to give residents more control over their homes. In addition to having a full consultation, before any decisions are made there would be a ballot on final proposals.
Lisa Homan, H&F’s cabinet member for housing says: "We are committed to devolving more control to residents.
" We will ensure that tenants and leaseholders will be fully involved in an accountable and transparent process, and any recommendation leading to a substantial change will be put to a ballot."
Last month H&F Council agreed to set up a new residents’ commission to put residents in the driving seat of the process. It is now seeking to appoint an independent chair to lead the group as it identifies the best options to grant more control for tenants and leaseholders.
