Help Shape H&F Council's Financial Policies As It Faces Budget Cuts

All welcome at meeting on Monday at Fulham Primary School

Hammersmith and Fulham Council is inviting residents to a discussion of its finances and potential actions on Monday November 24, at 7pm at Fulham Primary School in Halford Road.

The council says this is part of its drive to give us a greater say in how the it is run, as it faces a budget gap of £71million by 2018. It says this has been driven mainly by Government cuts of £50m but also takes into account other pressures such as new responsibilities to look after vulnerable children transferred to the council without any funding.

" Some of the things we are looking at are how we can better manage our capital spend programme and debt; assess the costs and benefits of our tri-borough relationships in light of the independent review chaired by Lord Adonis; and learn more about our spend on waste disposal," says Cllr PJ Murphy, Chair of the Finance and Delivery Policy and Accountability Committee.

"We would be delighted if you could come and join us on Monday when we are discussing these and other issues. The council would really benefit from your ideas."
