Winter Coat Appeals Now Up and Running

Help those in need to keep warm in coming cold weather

WrapUp London is in its 14th year

November 4, 2024

If you have a winter coat you no longer need, now’s the time to pass it on to someone in need during the cold months ahead.

HandsOn London’s annual project WrapUp London, now in its 14th year, launches this Tuesday (November 5) and runs until November 24, with Londoners urged to donate their old coats at collection points around the capital.

Last year’s collection brought in over 6,500 coats, which were sorted and shared with over 75 London-based and international charities.

Drop-off points in our borough include Hammersmith Fire Station, 190-192 Shepherd's Bush Road, Fulham Broadway shopping centre, Safestore Fulham, 37 Munster Road and The Hoxton on Shepherd's Bush Green. For a full list go to this link.

The charity advises checking opening times before taking along a donation.

A second Winter Coat Drive, run by Calling London is now up and running and asking people to donate warm winter coats and jackets for all ages, from infants to adults, until November 23.

This initiative, now its 11th year, is run in partnership with estate agency Chestertons who say their haul of coats has risen from 200 in 2013 to over 5,000 last year.

Coats and jackets can be dropped off at any branch of Chestertons by Sunday November 23, between 9am and 6pm. In our area these include 191 Munster Road, 654 Fulham Road and 78 New Kings Road, plus nearby branches in Putney, North Barnes, Chiswick and Kensington.

You can find a full list of branches here.
