Aladdin Flies Into the Lyric Hammersmith on Saturday
While Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas entertains younger children
The Lyric's panto is here again on Saturday 19 November when Aladdin flies into Hammersmith on his magic carpet for some traditional festive fun.
Fresh for 2016, the show will be full of colourful characters, live music, lots of laughs and of course the magical genie.
Award-winning comedian, Vikki Stone plays Abanazer joining Karl Queensborough who returns to the Lyric stage as Aladdin, after winning over young audiences as the Prince in last year’s Lyric panto, Cinderella.
Allyson Ava-Brown, who has recently been nominated for Best Performance for Etienne Sisters in the UK Theatre Awards, plays Jasmine.
The Lyric is also continuing its commitment to nurturing young talent with a six strong young ensemble.
Joel Horwood has also returned to write this year’s panto and Ellen McDougall, newly appointed as Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre is back to direct, alongside other members of last year’s creative team, Oliver Townsend (Set Design), Corin Buckeridge (Musical Composition) and Lainie Baird (Choreography).
As part of the Lyric’s commitment to the local
community, 2,000 free tickets to Aladdin are being given to for Hammersmith & Fulham schools. There will also be a relaxed performance for the first time for panto after the success of one presented for Bugsy Malone.

For younger children aged under six, Raymond Briggs' much loved Father Christmas is also back in the Lyric's Studio from Friday 18 November. The one hour show is at various times of the day until December 24, with youngster and their families joining Father Christmas as he gets ready for his busiest day of the year, Christmas Eve and watching as he prepares his Christmas deliveries, feeds his reindeer and finally takes flight into the snowy night.
Father Christmas is full of merry touches with plenty of live music, songs and playful puppetry.
