Including music, powerful and provocative plays and Aladdin at Christmas
The Lyric Hammersmith has announced its programme for the remainder of 2016, beginning with music and family fun in July.
Here are the highlights this summer and autumn:
Joe Stilgoe and the BBC Big Band - Jump, Jive and Swing
A Friday Night is Music Night Special, for BBC Radio 2
Recorded live on Monday 25 July at 7:30pm, broadcast Friday 29 July on BBC Radio 2.
Joe Stilgoe sings up a musical chilli pepper with the rockin' rhythms of the Kings of Jump, Jive and Swing. The sassiest, swingingest show in town comes to the Lyric Hammersmith for an era-defining show - the style and swing of Stilgoe and the music that inspired him from the 40s and 50s, shining the light on his heroes who shared a name - Louis Prima, Louis Jordan and Louis Armstrong.

You can be part of the Lyric’s one-off Bugsy Malone Family Fun Day. Over 4 hours of fabulous fun for all the family, including the chance to drive Fat Sam’s car, learn the dance routines, glam up at Lena Marelli’s hair & make-up parlour and much, much more.

Things I Know to Be True
Saturday 10 September to Saturday 1 October
This autumn the Lyric is also pleased to welcome back Frantic Assembly to the main stage with their new production Things I Know to be True by leading Australian playwright Andrew Bovell, which premiered to critical acclaim in Adelaide in May.
An exciting international co-production with the State Theatre Company of South Australia, Things I know to be True is co-directed by Scott Graham and Geordie Brookman.
Shopping and F***ing
Friday 07 October to Saturday 05 November 2016
20 years since its premiere at the Royal Court, Mark Ravenhill’s powerful and provocative Shopping and F***ing comes to the Lyric this autumn in a new production directed by Sean Holmes.
The Lyric’s main house will be transformed for this production with part of the audience seated on the stage, creating a bold intimate experience within their Victorian auditorium.
With a raw mixture of black humour and bleak philosophy, the play follows three disconnected young adults whose lives have been reduced to a series of transactions in an emotionally shrink wrapped world. A place where Shopping is sexy and F***ing is a job.
Aladdin
Saturday 19 November 2016 to 7 January 2017
Over the festive season Panto returns to the Lyric when Aladdin flies into Hammersmith on his magic carpet. Written by Joel Horwood, Aladdin will be full of colourful characters, live music, lots of laughs and of course the magical Genie.
For smaller children, there will also be the return of Raymond Briggs' beloved Father Christmas.
You can find out more about all these productions and everything else happening at the Lyric on its website.
