Teenager Faces Murder Charge Over Body Discovered in Barnes

A 17-year-old from Kensington and Chelsea has been charged with murder in connection with the discovery of human remains at a property in Barnes.

He will appear Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court later this Monday (6 January).

Police were called to the address on Nowell Road, SW13 on 3 January following concerns having been raised about the welfare of the occupant .

It has been confirmed by a post mortem examination that the person found in the property died from a stab wound to the chest.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however, police officers believe the victim is a 53-year-old man.

His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are investigating.
