Closure will allow Thames Water to complete repairs to road following major flooding
Hammersmith & Fulham Council say King Street is set to close once again from Sunday night, 18 February.
The street was temporarily reopened to westbound traffic this week in order to relieve congestion caused by the closure of Hammersmith Bridge.
The bridge will remain closed this weekend but is set to reopen on Sunday night, and King Street will then be closed to all traffic so that repairs to the road surface can be completed.
The clear up work follows a burst water main which led to major flooding on King Street throughout the evening of 26 January.
Thames Water is also continuing to fix a second burst pipe which caused major flooding in Goldhawk Road in Shepherd's Bush last Wednesday. This means there are still closures on Goldhawk Road itself, but on Tuesday 6 February, Hammersmith Grove reopened to northbound traffic only. Motorists can only turn left (westbound) on reaching Goldhawk Road.
