Burst water main near Ravenscourt Park leads to road closure
A major burst water main has led to serious flooding on King Street in Hammersmith close to the southern end of Ravenscourt Park this Friday evening (26 January).
The flood water was reportedly up to a foot deep in parts and several basements in the area are believed to have been inundated.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area as King Street has been closed between Goldhawk Road and Hammersmith Broadway.
There have been reports at the same time of low water pressure in the area.
Thames Water say that engineers on site attempting to deal with the problem. London Fire Brigade and the police are also at the scene.
It is not known at this stage whether there is any connection with the burst water main that occurred in the early hours of the morning between Gunnersbury Lane and Chiswick Roundabout and required the closure of the northbound carriageway of the north circular.
