Hammersmith Pipe Repairs to Continue into Next Week

Thames Water says closures remain on King Street and Goldhawk Road

Thames Water says it has now repaired the pipe under King Street which caused major flooding - but  says roadworks will continue into next week.

The company's latest update on Friday 2 February says: "The pipe that burst last Friday (26 January) has been repaired and we’re now testing it before we put it back in service.

" Our next step after that will be filling in the large hole we had to dig and getting the road put back to normal. This work will continue into next week and we’re sorry for any delays caused by the ongoing road closure."

The works mean the closure of King Street between Studland Street and Goldhawk Road.

Thames Water is also continuing to fix a second burst pipe which caused major flooding in Goldhawk Road in Shepherd's Bush on Wednesday.

The update says: "Our work to fix the burst pipe will carry on throughout the weekend and into next week. Although the road remains closed to traffic we’ve opened up access for pedestrians ahead of QPR’s home game this weekend and we’ll continue to do all we can to have everything back to normal as soon as we possibly can.

"We’re really sorry for the disruption the burst pipes have caused in the last week. In each of the areas we’ve got teams working hard to get them fixed and fully support any affected customers.

"Getting everything back to normal is our top priority and then we’ll investigate the causes of the bursts to help reduce the risk of further problems."
