Fulham Property Prices - April 2011
A third of homes sold go for over a million
The latest sales details from the Land Registry continue to show strong demand for properties at the top end of the Fulham property market.
During April there were 74 properties sold in the SW6 post code area at an average price of £926,014. Over a third of those sold during the month went for over £1,000,000. The most expensive property changing hands was New Lodge on Broomhouse Lane which was sold for £4,255,000. This is the fifth most expensive property ever in the Fulham area.
The April data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 1.3 per cent which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £163,083. The monthly change from March to April is an increase of 0.8 per cent. The region with the highest annual price change was London with an increase of 5 per cent. London also experienced the greatest monthly rise with a movement of 3 per cent.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during February 2011, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 10 per cent to 38,336 from 42,515 in February 2010. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million increased by 14 per cent between February 2010 and February 2011, from 399 to 454.
