Polo in the Park Named Sports Attraction of the Year

And Hurlingham Park's big summer event is back in 2011

29,000 people attended the three day event at Hurlingham Park in June, watching teams from London, New York, Buenos Aires, Paris, Geneva, Moscow, Durban and Sydney competing in a fast-moving contest for the Polo in the Park Trophy.

Other entertainment included stunt riders, medieval jousting displays, a soft play area for children, a luxury shopping village, a Veuve Clicquot Champagne Garden and food from across the globe.

After negotiations with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, organisers offered free tickets to the event to over 2,000 local residents and arranged for a number of schools to take part in discover polo sessions.

And preparations for next year's Polo in the Park are already underway, with organisers confirming that the next event will take place on June 3, 4 and 5, 2011.

Polo in the Park won the award at a ceremony held in Riverbank Park Plaza, beating Wimbledon and Wembley Stadium to win the award.
