North End Road Goes Traffic Free Again for 2018 Autumn Market

Offering 150 stalls, plus music, food, dancing and street entertainment

As always, the market, open from 9am till 5pm promises a great family day out with 150 stalls on each side of the road offering the usual seasonal produce, fresh fruit and veg along with arts and crafts, jewellery, clothing, fashion accessories and gifts.

There will also be a huge line-up of live music acts and street entertainment galore, including characters such as the fabulous Cake Ladies and their gowns covered in tasty treats, the jumping Giant Kangaroos and the centuries old human sized puppet dup, Hodman Dodmanott and Sally Forth, pictured below.

This year visitors will also have the opportunity to hit the dancefloor on the corner of Sedlescombe Road where they can learn some new salsa and tango moves from stilt walking dance instructors.

The London Dance Studio will then show visitors the basics of ballroom and other Latin American dances before teaching 'the magic steps' which will allow you to dance in just 10 minutes.

Further up the road, enjoy a set from local resident, DJ Boots, who will be playing from 11am-2pm near the Lillie Road junction.

The line-up of singers and bands performing across the market including crowd favourite George Price, singer Ky Lewis and the promising Alyssa Palmer, who will be making her North End Road market debut.

There will also be martial arts displays from Fulham resident Saimoore Sarsoza's Kixstar Dragon fighters, who are based in Haldane Road, and the Lam Association Tai Chi club, who will be putting on demonstrations on the Sedlescombe stage from 11am.

Worling with the council to boost the market, North End Road Action Group (NERAG) is made up of residents, businesses, market traders, local organisations and the council with an aim of reviving North End Road as a thriving high street with the market at its core.

If you are interested in getting involved please email nerag@btconnect.com or call 020 8753 5695 for more information.

Becoming a trader at the market, either the regular daily market or one of the traffic free seasonal events, is simple - even if you have never done it before.

You can find all the information you need at the  North End Road market web page where you can  download a factsheet  about becoming a stall holder, a new traders' guide and an application form.
