Get hands on with the hidden treasures of our collection.

The rich history of Fulham Palace means we have a varied collection including Roman archaeology, paintings, engravings and even postcards! Find out more about the objects from our collection and feel history in your hands at this special event.

Suitable for ages 14+ . Takes place in Bishop Porteus' Library,
free drop in event.

Wayne Hernandez is a fantastic singer who has worked with Tina Turner, Tori Amos, Blur, Grover Washington, Roberta Flack, Madonna and Rag’n’Bone Man.

He has toured extensively with Kool and the Gang, Regina Bell and Billy Ocean, and is one of the singers with the indie/electronica band Gorillaz.

A longtime member of the London Community Gospel Choir, he is also known for his appearances with the Kingdom Choir, who took the world by storm after performing at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This multi-talented artist delivers a simply brilliant set of powerful groove music with an impressive seven-piece band of hand-picked musicians, including guitar, sax and backing vocals, that define the word “soul”.

Described as " …the outstanding voice of her generation", Claire Martin OBE is a multi-award-winning, internationally acclaimed artist with no less than eight British Jazz Awards and more than 20 albums, including numerous “Best Album” choices, to her name.

Formerly the host of “Jazz Line-up” on BBC Radio 3, Claire’s vast CV includes work with the likes of Bill Charlap and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett as well as performances with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Big Band and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

A consummate artist and performer, with her husky, perfectly controlled voice, flawless time and impeccable taste she never fails to impress. Claire and her quintet will present a wonderful programme featuring the best-loved songs from the Great American Songbook, delivered with elegance and panache.

Gates open from 6.30pm. This event is held on the Palace’s main lawn. This event will go ahead in all weather unless it is unsafe to do so. Wet weather protection is not provided.

Sunday 28 July, 11am - 3pm - Family fun day: Parchmarks project

As well as activities throughout the day, there will be a chance to get hands on with archaeology from 1pm - 3pm. Take a tour of the site and recreate the lost medieval chapel with cardboard boxes!

Suitable for ages 3+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This free drop in event is part of the Festival of Archaeology

Sunday 28 July - 12.30pm - 1.30pm - History Tour

On this tour of the house and garden, learn how their passions, wealth and power shaped Fulham Palace. Find out about the mixture of different architectural styles that make up the house, the stories of the Bishops and their families who called the Palace home, and how the 13 acre garden evolved over the centuries to become the beautiful urban oasis it is today.

Monday 22 and 29 and Tuesday 23 and 30 July, 10.30am - 11.30am - Summer Seekers

These weekly, themed sessions for two to seven year olds and their adults are all about having fun together over school holidays, getting hands-on with craft activities, dressing up in period costumes and exploring the house and garden.
