Join specialist heritage Site Manager Steve Bevan (from Sykes and Son Ltd) for a talk and Q&A about the latest updates on Fulham Palace's Restoration Project and what has been changing at the Palace.

Free - no booking required.

These talks may occasionally provide the opportunity to view interior spaces where construction is taking place. Please wear appropriate clothing and suitable footwear if you wish to participate.

This spring, a number of exciting topics are programmed for the Young Archaeologists’ Club, exploring both the wealth of archaeology here at Fulham Palace and in the surrounding area.

Young Archaeologists’ Club – Spring Term

Young Archaeologists’ Clubs (YACs) exist up and down the country providing 8 to 16 year olds with a chance to discover the past through investigating artefacts and exploring the world around them.

This is West London’s first YAC, providing an opportunity for children to have fun finding out about their local history and archaeology, to meet real archaeologists and craftspeople, develop new skills and make new friends in the process.

The spring term sessions are :

Saturday, 19 January – Battersea Library Archive Trip
Saturday, 16 February – Marvellous Medieval Medicine
Saturday, 16 March – Saxon Looms
Saturday, 13 April – Glass Blowing

Suitable for 8 to 16 year olds, young people attend independently. £45.50 for the spring term (January to April).

Wed 23 January, 11am-12pm - Behind the Scenes: Handling the Museum Collections

Fulham Palace has a rich and varied history that is reflected in the Museum collections, which include archaeology, paintings, engravings and even postcards. Come along to see our recent acquisitions with a rare opportunity to handle special objects not usually on display. Free; no booking required.

Hands On Archaeology : Tudor Grub

An opportunity to get up close and personal with archaeology at Fulham Palace, and learn more about the rich and varied history of this ancient site. Free, no booking required.

Wed 30 January, 2pm-4pm - Palace Patterns Embroidery Workshop

Take part in a relaxed creative embroidery workshop with skilled Sewing Bee members.r skilled Sewing Bee members.

Learn techniques and tips to reflect all of the patterns found across the Palace, from the stained glass in the Tait Chapel to the Tudor brickwork.

Mon 7,14, 21 and 28 and Tues 8,15,22 and 29 January, 9.30am-10.30am - Palace Explorers early spring term

Palace Explorers â?

Starting on Monday 7 January, Palace Explorers will be discovering more about water at the Palace this term, including:

Playing I-spy water, exploring water through movement and dancing using a dance streamer (Mon 7 & Tue 8 Jan)
Exploring water through the Fulham Palace fountains and making beautiful droplet sun catchers (Mon 14 & Tue 15 Jan)
Watching out for all the water bird life around the Palace and create our own duck finger puppets (Mon 21 & Tue 22)
Dressing up as Eliza Hattis, a Victorian Palace servant, and helping give the Palace a spring clean (Mon 28 & Tue 29 Jan)
Learning about steam, water and ice and crafting a mini train (Mon 4 & Tue 5 Feb)
Using Victorian wash day objects to launder fabric, enjoy bubbles and making delightful messy foam prints (Mon 11 & Tue 12 Feb)

These fun and creative facilitated sessions are geared specifically to 2-4 year olds and their adults.

Booking is essential. The cost is £5 per child, which includes a drink and healthy snack. Accompanying adults and babies are free.

The spring term, from 7 January - 12 February can be block booked for £30.50 per child. Alternatively, tickets are available for individual sessions on a first come, first served basis.
