Fulham Broadway is In the Pink

Centre decorated with balloons by volunteers from The Haven

Volunteers from local breast cancer support centre The Haven descended on the shopping centre and decorated it with 1,500 pink balloons, while Hammersmith and Fulham Mayor Belinda Donovan came down to launch the fundraising day.

Says The Haven's Emma Payne: " The balloons looked fantastic and our stand in Fulham Broadway was busy right through the day. We had a local cupcake company called Snaffles sell their cupcakes which were so popular they sold out in half the time we expected them to."

Local businesses also joined in. " The Pelican pub were doing a special cocktail on the night called the Flamingo which was very yummy, Joy had a pink display and collection, David Lloyd sold cupcakes from Antonia's Bakery and Waitrose went pink too," says Emma.

"We are still collecting all the money raised by local businesses but we are already on track to exceed last year’s total which is such good news.

"We are determined that Fulham in the Pink will now be an annual event in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "
