Christmas Fair at St Augustine's School

Mayor Adronie Alford to be guest of honour

Cllr Adronie Alford, the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, will be the guest of honour at St Augustine’s RC Primary School’s Christmas Fair on Friday 10 December at 3.30pm.

The Mayor, who is a keen supporter of the school, will attend the festivities at the school in Disbrowe Road along with hundreds of parents and children.

There will be a bouncy castle for the youngsters, as well as face painting, free games, Christmas crafts, a toy stall, and a chance to visit Santa in his grotto.  Adults can enjoy mulled wine and Irish coffees with mince pies at the Enchanting Christmas Café, and try their luck on the tombola.  Prizes include a fantastic Yuletide hamper and a mouth-watering Christmas cake.

Money raised at the Disbrowe Road school's annual fair will go towards buying more books for the school library, improving the school’s main entrance by providing shelter from the rain, and improving play therapy facilities.

Paula Thomas, chairman of St Augustine’s PTA, says: " We particularly want to enrich the school library.  I’ve had one child come through the school who is currently in Year 10 and one in Year 3 at St Augustine’s, and the younger one is bringing home the same books the older one brought home seven years ago.  It’s time for an upgrade, and we hope to raise lots of money for this fantastic cause."
