Felicity Cloake to Launch Her Debut Novel at the Brown Cow

Felicity Cloake, the award-winning food writer whose recipes and travel adventures have earned her a devoted following, is to appear at The Brown Cow in Fulham on Tuesday 15 September.
for an evening that blends conversation, storytelling and a dinner inspired by her journeys. The event marks the launch of her debut novel, The Underdog, and offers readers the chance to hear her discuss the shift from food writing to fiction while enjoying a three-course menu shaped by the flavours she has explored around the world.
Cloake is best known for The Guardian’s long-running “How to Make the Perfect…” series and for bestselling books such as One More Croissant for the Road, Red Sauce Brown Sauce and Peach Street to Lobster Lane, which combine culinary curiosity with travelogue.
At The Brown Cow she will be in conversation with Claire Nelson, author of the acclaimed memoir Things I Learned from Falling, which recounts her near-fatal accident in the Californian desert and the profound reassessment of life that followed. Together they will discuss food, travel, writing and the creative leap involved in moving from non-fiction to a first novel.
Guests will be welcomed from 6pm, with time to meet the author before sitting down to a dinner designed specially for the occasion. The menu draws on recipes and tastes from her travels, offering a culinary counterpart to the stories she will share. The evening runs until 9.30pm, with tickets starting at £43.20. Five pounds from every ticket sold will be donated to Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, adding a charitable dimension to the celebration.
