Including some boys and girls achieving new 9 'super grade'
Across the country, just 2,000 students have achieved the new 'super grade' 9 in all three maths and English examinations - and two of these girls attend Fulham Cross Girls' School in Munster Road.
There was a clean sweep of top grades for Xii Cin Lim, pictured above, who has achieved seven A* grades and three grade 9s – results that put her in the enviable position of choosing from a range of offers from independent schools across West London.
This outstanding set of results is the highest ever achieved by a Fulham Cross Girls' School student and was closely followed by students including Lyeba Ahmed (six A*s, 1 A and three grade 8s), Ithar Hajar Derdour (six A*s, two As, two grade 8s and one grade 7) and Shan Hama, pictured below, who achieved three grade 9s in English and maths, three A*s, 4 As and 1 B.
The school says its students have, once again, excelled in their GCSE results, with an astounding 32% of all grades awarded at A*/A, the highest percentage of top grades ever achieved at the school.
In the midst of country-wide uncertainty around the new, more challenging, examinations in English and maths, students have surpassed expectations with 80% achieving a strong pass in English and 90% achieving the standard pass.
Maths outcomes are also strong, with 75% of students achieving the standard pass in the more demanding examination, bringing the overall measure of girls receiving a pass in both English and maths to 74%. Outstanding performances in science continued with 100% of students achieving A*-C in chemistry, 96% in biology and 93% in physics, with a huge 55% of grades within these subjects awarded at A*/A .
Head of School, Denise Fox said: "Once again, the staff and students of Fulham Cross Girls’ School have worked exceptionally hard to achieve the results that will take our girls on to some of the best academic sixth form providers in the country.
"We are a fully inclusive school and are exceptionally proud of the progress that all our students make, working within our vision of Empowering Tomorrow’s Women."
There was also delight at nearby Fulham College Boys’ School in Kingwood Road, where 59% of students achieved grades 9 – 4 (A* to C) in English and Maths – a 13% rise on last year’s results.
Further highlights in individual subjects include 100% A* - C in Modern Foreign Languages and 82% in English. The school also saw an increase in A/A* grades this year with 15% of the cohort achieving these best grades.

Among the school's top performers were Younes Chaffa, who is now heading for Holland Park Sixth Form with a 7s grade in English language and literature, an 8 in maths, as well as three A*s and three As.
His friend Waleed Rahim said he was "exhilarated" after opening his results envelope to find he had achieved the super grade 9 in English literature, plus 8 in English language and 7 in maths along with an A*, two As and two Bs. He’s now off to Ashcroft Sixth form to pursue psychology, business, history and politics.
Bogomil Gerov joined the college in Year 11 from Sofia, Bulgaria and is delighted after getting grade 8 in English language and English literature and a 7 in maths. He bolstered those with a flurry of As, Bs and a C.
"I never expected to get these results," he said."I owe a lot to my teachers."
After her first year at Fulham College Boys' School, Sally Brooks, Head of School was thrilled, saying: "I am so proud of our dedicated students and staff – it has been a phenomenal first year
Peter Haylock, Executive Principal, Fulham College Academy Trust added: "The boys and staff should be really proud of what they have achieved; these are a fantastic set of results."
