Fulham, Sulivanand Queens Manor's School consult parents on plans
They are Fulham Primary School in Halford Road, Sulivan Primary in Peterborough Road and Queen's Manor Primary in Lysia Street.
The three, all non-faith community schools, have announced their intention using the same message.
The message on Sulivan Primary School's website says:
" The school’s Governing Body believes the best way forward for Sulivan in the fast-changing educational landscape is as part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).
After many months of discussion with other Governing Bodies, the proposal is to form a MAT along with Fulham Primary and Queen’s Manor Primary schools.
The proposed MAT would be supported by the educational expertise of the London Diocesan Board for Schools. All three schools would maintain their non-faith community school status.
The move comes as the Government recently announced plans for all schools in England to convert to Academy status by 2022."
Letters have also gone out to parents from Sulivan's Headteacher Wendy Aldridge and Chair of Governors Caroline Langton, Fulham's Headteacher Leesa Schooneman and Chair of Governors Matt Thorley and Queen's Manor Headteacher Sonja Harrison and Chair of Governors Bryanna Patterson.
The letters say: " Our priority is to enable the school to continue to provide an excellent education for our children while protecting the school’s role at the heart of our community and retaining its unique qualities and strengths."
A formal consultation with parents, carers, staff and the local community, was launched on Monday April 18 and rund till Friday May 13th. Find out more on the schools' individual websites.
