'A tropical haven every single day'
September 28, 2026
A new “all-day” restaurant is about to open its doors at 342 North End Road, the premises which were formerly home to Argos.
The new launch is called Malieu 2.0, joining its existing sister restaurant in Acton Vale, which has won a string of awards since launching in 2022.
While the original Malieu Cafe described itself as a dedicated “brunch spot”, the Fulham branch plans to expand into an all-day concept, featuring a dedicated bakery, what it calls brasserie energy and late-night dinners alongside its signature daytime menu.
This daytime menu will include a full range of breakfast dishes with favourites such as Turkish Eggs and Shaksuka along with its Old English and Wild West Breakfasts and for those with large appetites, its French Riviera - French toast topped with homemade cinnamon butter served with scrambled free-range eggs, sausage, turkey rashers, hash browns and baked beans served with mixed fruits and maple syrup.
The menu will also include burgers, salads, a range of desserts, speciality coffees, juices and mocktails, a special menu for kids and veggie, vegan and halal options.
The new restaurant will be on two floors with seating upstairs overlooking North End Road as well as a prayer room and fully accessible loo. After months spent converting the long empty premises, Malieu's owners, long time friends Abdi Nasir Sharif Ali and Mohamed Abdi Hakin Hassan, aim to be open to the public by end of September. Also soon to open is Shah's Halal Food, which is moving from its mobile site in the market into 274 North End Road, the former home of the London Plus Credit Union, where it will continue to offer its range of gyros, platters, wraps and salads along with its signature hot, white or green sauce. Fans of Shah' s "meals packed with bold flavours" can keep up with its launch plans here.
