20 Firefighters Tackle Blaze in Oakbury Road


Fire brought under control by 2.30am

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in Oakbury Road in Fulham during the early hours of this morning, August 3.

The building, off Wandsworth Bridge Road, is a terraced house which has been converted into flats.

The fire damaged over half of a five roomed flat on the first floor of the building.

London Fire Brigade says it was called at 1.30am and the fire was under control by 2.55am.

Fire crews from Fulham, Wandsworth and Battersea fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Meanwhile, just yards away, the popular restaurant Joe's Brasserie has reopened to the public after being badly damaged by a fire on March 14.
