Third Arrest over Fulham Court "Revenge Attack"

Police still suspect killing is linked to prison murder

A third arrest has been made over a murder on the Fulham Court estate which police believe may have been a revenge attack.

A man, who was last week named as 28 year-old Anthony Otton was killed by a single gunshot through the heart on June 4.

The killing happened just hours after the funeral of Darcy Austin-Bruce, 20, who lived in Fulham Court and was shot dead outside Wandsworth Prison on May 1.

Mr Otton had been attending a wake for Mr Austin- Bruce in Geranium House, Fulham Court and was shot as he was leaving, just before 7pm. It is believed he was a recent inmate of Wandsworth Prison where he was serving time for drugs offences.

Mr Austin-Bruce had been visiting Wandsworth Prison when he was shot several times outside the jail. Six men arrested over the killing have been released on bail.

Police have already arrested two men over Mr Otton's shooting, both of whom have been bailed to return pending further inquiries.

Police say the latest arrest, of a man aged 23, was made at a West London police station at 3.25am on Sunday morning. He remains in custody.

Police have also taken steps to reassure local residents by increasing patrols around Fulham Court and pointing out that shootings are extremely rare in SW6.

Superintendent Keith Overstall, from Fulham Police Station, said: "This is obviously a tragic incident, but one which is a rarity in the borough."

An incident room has been opened at Barnes under Detective Chief Inspector Howard Groves from the homicide and serious crime command.
