Police looking at links with last month's prison murder
Police are investigating links between the shooting of a man in the Fulham Court estate on Thursday June 4 and a murder carried last month, amidst reports that the fatal shooting may have been a revenge attack.
A 28-year-old man, now named as Anthony Otton, was shot on Thursday as he left a flat in Fulham Court, close to the home of 20 year-old Darcy Austin-Bruce, who was killed outside Wandsworth Prison on the afternoon of May 1.
Mr Austin-Bruce, who had been making a prison visit, was shot several times on Heathfield Road, close to the jail.
This new shooting happened just hours after his funeral, and police believe the victim had returned to Fulham Court with others to attend a wake.
Police were called at around 6.50pm after receiving reports of shots being fired in Fulham Court. Armed officers were dispatched to the area, accompanied by the London Ambulance Service, and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene shortly after.
Trident, the Metropolitan Police unit dedicated to gun crime, has been informed, and a 24 year-old man has already been arrested. Six men were arrested over last month's shooting and have been released on bail.
