Two Teens Charged with Murder After Hit and Run Victim Dies

Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of Amrou Greenidge, 19 in Broomhouse Lane in Fulham.

Police say a 17 year-old-youth was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Tuesday, 20 August and a 16 year-old youth was charged with murder on Wednesday, 21 August.

Both were arrested on Monday, 19 August and both have been kept in custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court at 11am today, Wednesday 21 August.

Police have also confirmed that the these charges are in connection with an attack on Broomhouse Lane, which runs between Hurlingham Park and Sulivan Court estate, at 2.43pm on Sunday, 18 August.

Amrou Greenidge, 19 from Fulham was found at the location with serious injuries head injuries.

It is believed Amrou been riding a pedal cycle when he was struck by a car and then allegedly assaulted by the car’s passengers.

He was taken to a west London hospital in a critical condition and sadly died of his injuries on Tuesday.

A 19 year-old-man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder, but is currently being treated in hospital for burn injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing a burnt out car in nearby Dymock Street.

A vigil for Amrou Greenidge took place last night in the SW6 area, and flowers have been laid a the scene of his death.

Police say there will continue to be police patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the community.

Following the incident a Section 60 was authorised from 12pm Monday until 3am 20 August. This gave police officers extra powers to stop and search over the whole borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
