Police Appeal Again for Help One Week after Kyle's Murder

Fulham teenager gunned down last Wednesday in Battersea

Exactly one week after the murder of Fulham teenager Kyle McDonald, detectives have appealed again for witness to come forward and assist them with their investigation.

Shortly before 8pm on Wednesday September 18, police were called to an injured man in Coppock Close, SW11. Upon their arrival they found 19 year-old Kyle and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service at 8.14pm.

Detectives believe Kyle, an aspiring rap artist who called himself Veli Goodfellaz, may have sustained his injuries in Musjid Road, SW11, from where he staggered into Fawcett Close, finally collapsing in Coppock Close.

A post-mortem held at St George's Hospital on Friday September 20 gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound.

There have been no arrests in connection with the murder investigation and enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives retain an open mind regarding the circumstances of the incident and any motive.

Officers from Wandsworth and detectives from the investigation team have been in the area today seeking the assistance of local residents in coming forward with any new information that could assist with their inquiry.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), says: " A week on since the shooting which led to Kyle’s death, my team of detectives continue to appeal for witness to come forward and assist us with our investigation.

" We have worked endlessly to establish the course of events and are exploring numerous lines of enquiries to identify those responsible. I am keen to establish if there was anyone in the area who saw or heard anything suspicious. I'm appealing for anyone who has any information no matter how small to please come forward and help us with our inquiry.

" There will be a number of young people who will have information about the course of events that day. We urge you to come and speak to us. We understand that some might have some concerns with speaking to the police but it is important that they do so and we can offer reassurance and support for those that can assist us with our enquiries.

" Someone knows what happened that evening and I am urging them not to remain silent but to come and speak to us. Your information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

" Likewise I am directly appealing to the family members and friends of those believed to be involved - if you have slightest indication the person you know may have been involved in this incident I encourage you to get them to hand themselves into the police. Failing to do so will result in my officers pursuing them."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist police is asked to contact detectives on 020 8358 0200 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
