Fulham Teen Gunned Down in Battersea

Rap singer Kyle Macdonald killed due to mistaken identity say friends

19 year old Kyle McDonald, from Fulham was pronounced dead by paramedics Thursday evening after being shot in Coppock Close, on the Kambala Estate just off Falcon Road, Battersea.

Mr McDonald was a member of a rap group and went by the name Veli Goodfellaz. Sources close to his family have been quoted as saying that he was not involved in crime and they believe his death was a case of mistaken identity.

No arrests have yet been made and the Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation.

Local MP Jane Ellison said this morning: “This is clearly a tragic incident, and our thoughts are inevitably with the victim's family at this difficult time.

“I am grateful to the Acting Borough Police Commander, Paul McGregor, for briefing me in the hours after the incident about this shooting on the Kambala estate. It was clear from his briefing that this is a complex crime scene, hence the reason for the street cordon being in place for such a long time. This is clearly distressing for the victim's family and local residents. I discussed with the Acting Borough Commander the importance of sharing as much information about this crime with local residents as possible, and I know that the police have already started carrying out their detailed inquiries. Officers from Wandsworth are investigating, supported by colleagues from the Specialist Crime & Operations Command.”
