A company which describes itself as the world’s largest Pilates chain is planned to open a studio in Fulham.

An application (2023/01539/ADV) has been submitted by Club Pilates for the conversion of 423 North End Road (SW6 1NY) and the display of illuminated signs. The unit was formerly the location of Dam Health and Boots Opticians.

Club Pilates is a US-based company operating in 11 countries outside North America as a franchise business. Currently it has studios in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Austria, Germany, and Spain. These provide equipment-based Pilates that uses reformers and other spring-loaded apparatus as well as a variety of other equipment, including TRX, Exo-Chair, Bosu ball, mats, rollers, and more. Instructors are present to provide training to customers.

Last year a Master Franchise Agreement was signed by Richard Uku, founder of Deblankson Fitness Group, and a Multi-Unit Franchisee of Club Pilates and sister brand, AKT, in the United States. The former City of London banker moved to the US 20 years ago and he already has six Club Pilates studios in New Jersey and New York. The agreement will allow him to open at least 50 studios in the UK over the next ten years.
