Two artists from a Fulham studio that supports people with learning disabilities have seen their work selected for Lush’s international Mother’s Day collection, bringing their designs to customers around the world.

Faisal Yusuf and Kelly Ware, both members of This New Ground (TNG), collaborated with the ethical beauty brand on artwork for two products in this year’s range. TNG, based at the Creighton Centre, has spent the past decade nurturing the creative talents of local artists with learning disabilities, and the partnership marks one of its most high-profile collaborations to date.

Faisal’s bold, colourful anima-themed illustration appears on Lush’s new Garden Mural silk knot wrap. The design was inspired by the foxes, moles and birds that visit the garden outside the TNG studio. “I’m excited that my design is now being seen by people in the UK and internationally,” he said. “I hope mother figures around the world enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

Kelly’s lino print of her cat, Andre, features on the Oh So Demure greeting card. She describes Andre as an emotional support companion and said seeing her artwork chosen for the collection was deeply meaningful. “To know that people around the world will be buying my design for Mother’s Day makes me feel really proud,” she said.

Lush has worked with a range of artist groups and charities over the past decade and says inclusivity is central to its design approach. Emma Tardif, the company’s gift design lead, said the team was immediately drawn to the pair’s work. “Collaborating with Kelly and Faisal has been a joyous experience,” she said. “We believe all artists should have a platform to showcase their work.”

TNG co-director Lucy Groenewoud said the partnership demonstrates how creative and commercial sectors can work together to widen opportunities for artists with learning disabilities. “This collaboration shows how creativity, inclusion and corporate support can come together to create real positive impact,” she said.

The recognition comes at a particularly successful moment for Kelly, who has been shortlisted for the Colour Brilliance Award in the 2026 Artworks Together Awards for her stil-life painting of daffodils. Her work, along with pieces by three other TNG artists, is currently on display at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery as part of the international Artworks Together Festival, which runs until the end of May.
