Royal Couple Open Chelsea Children's Hospital

Charles and Camilla tour facilities at Chelsea and Westminster

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on Tuesday March 18 to open Chelsea Children’s Hospital.

Their Royal Highnesses were given a tour of the new paediatric facilities including Saturn Ward (day case surgery), paediatric theatres, Mercury Ward (inpatients) and the Chelsea Community Hospital School.

While visiting theatres Their Royal Highnesses were able to try their hand at robotic surgery on a mannequin under the watchful eye of Chelsea Children’s Hospital’s team of paediatric surgeons.

After the tour Their Royal Highnesses joined guests for a ceremony where they unveiled the plaque to commemorate the opening.
