The Cheesecake Factory to Open on UNION Market Site

Chain famous for its big portions comes to Broadway!

The chain, which is apparently famous for serving up large portions, has announced it is taking over former tube station site which was formerly the home of  grocery store UNION Market until it closed its doors last month.

This is the first European opening for the chain, which has over 150 locations across America, and it also has plans to open in Kuwait, Dubai and across the Middle East.

Although it does offer an astonishing choice of 26 different cheesecakes, the American version of the chain also offers a full menu including pizza, pasta, seafood and salads.

An official opening date for the new restaurant is expected to be announced soon.

This opening looks set to be the first in a flurry of new activity around the Broadway. Last month it was announced Fulham Town Hall had been sold by Hammersmith and Fulham Council to an American company called Dory Ventures, which aims to convert the building into a "lifestyle emporium" with a range of shops and a restaurant, plus new homes on the upper floor.

Also on the Broadway, organic supermarket Whole Foods has plans to move into the site recently vacated by the Blue Elephant when it moved south to Imperial Wharf. The company says this opening is planned for some time in 2013.
