Parking space behind block of flats reaches second highest price ever
Garage outside Welsby Court was Ealing's most expensive
A garage in Ealing has recently changed hands for the second highest price ever paid for a property of that kind.
The parking space behind College Court on the Mall in central Ealing was bought for £31,000 according to the Land Registry. It is ideally situated for a commuter using Ealing Broadway station which is due to be part of the Crossrail network.
What is believed to be the record amount paid for a garage in the W5 postcode area was the £32,000 handed over for a garage by Welsby Court in Eaton Rise in 2017.
One local agent told us, “Increased parking restrictions in the borough are driving up prices for garages and mean that off-street parking increases the value of the home. More home owners are now looking to convert front garden space into parking and this is now adding to the value of their property whereas before it was a cost.”
High prices paid in 2018 for garages in the area include £20,000 for a unit at Greystoke Court off Hanger Lane and £25,000 for one at Hamilton Court on Hamilton Road.
