Two Acton Teens Jailed for Gang-related Stabbing

Two teenagers from Acton have been jailed after they were found guilty of stabbing a man on the Vale earlier this year.
Thiago Andrade, 18, of York Road, Acton, was sentenced to six years for GBH and possession of a pointed bladed article.
Yusef Ahmed, 18, of Shakespeare Road, Acton was sentenced to eight years for GBH, possession of a pointed bladed article and possession with intent to sell A-class drugs.
The incident took place on 24 January, when Andrade and Ahmed were walking along The Vale and met a man outside a restaurant.
They chased the man down as he ran off after they had pulled out large knives/machetes. When they caught up with him they stabbed him multiple times. As they walked away past members of the public, the two men hid the knives on their person and attempted to cover their faces.
The victim managed to make his way back to the restaurant, where passers-by gave first aid and flagged down a passing police car.
He refused to speak to police after the incident, confirming suspicions that this was an attack involving rival gangs – the Crown Prosecution Service decided to proceed to court via a victimless prosecution.
CCTV footage of the area identified both Andrade and Ahmed at the scene, with police able to arrest and charge Andrade on Saturday, 9 February.
Ahmed left the country immediately after the stabbing - he was later arrested on Friday, 5 April in Portsmouth after being spotted supplying drugs. Further investigation by officers led to the arrest of another man, whom was found to be running a ‘county lines’ drug operation alongside Ahmed.
Abdihakim Odasuge, 18, of Old Oak Common Lane, Acton was found inside an address in Portsmouth, along with heroin and cocaine, as well as £1,200 cash. He was sentenced to two years for possession with intent to sell A-class drugs.
Detective Constable Tom Henley of the West Area Command Unit, said: “We hope that convictions such as this will deter other young gang members from following the same path, helping to make our streets and communities safer. Gang-related crime needs to be tackled strongly.
“We are pleased that our investigation managed to also stop a drug supply, an added bonus on top of convictions for an abhorrent crime.”
