Wimbledon Station's Rail Facilities Set For Improvement

Initiative part of £90m worth of upgrades across South Western Railway network

Wimbledon Station’s rail facilities are to be improved as part of a £90m initiative across the South Western Railway network.

The station is to receive new customer information screens, benches, handrails, tactile paving, and induction loop and LED light.

South Western Rail made the announcement yesterday (October 15) on the UK’s first National Stations Day.

Andy Mellors, SWR’s Managing Director, said: “Our customers sit at the heart of everything that we do, and we are committed to improving their experience of travelling with us. As part of this we are investing £90m to improve station facilities across our network.

“South Western Railway’s station improvement programme has already delivered accessibility and customer information improvements at many stations.”
