Fatal collision took place near junction with Buckhold Road

A woman pedestrian in her seventies has died after being hit by a lorry in the centre of Wandsworth .
The collision took place just before noon on Friday (6 October) on Buckhold Road at the junction with Wandsworth High Street.
She was tended to by paramedics leg and head injuries and a London Air Ambulance helicopter landed at the scene but she was pronounced dead around half an hour later. Her next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting officers although he was not arrested.
A/DS Alistair Middleton from the Met's Road and Transport Policing Command said: "We are looking into the circumstances of this collision which sadly resulted in an elderly woman losing her life.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time who might have seen the collision is urged to come forward with their information and speak to police."
