A woman in her twenties is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car on the Wandsworth Bridge Road.

The woman was walking on the part of the road south of the river when she was hit at around 7.08pm on Tuesday (12 January).

She was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for witnesses.

According to the police there was another less serious collision involving a cyclist on the same stretch of road shortly beforehand.
