Shepherd's Bush's new luxury hotel Dorsett Shepherd's Bush has officially launched with a ceremony which included a spectacular Lion Dance in the new foyer - much to the astonishment of people waiting at the bus stop outside!
The seven storey Dorsett Shepherd's Bush is set within a Grade II listed building, built in 1923, on the west side of Shepherd's Bush Green, originally known as The Shepherd's Bush Pavilion, and retains the building's historic façade.
The hotel says that under its landmark glass roof, it offers 317 Chinese inspired bedrooms designed with a light and modern feel, including 187 standard Dorsett rooms, and 24 suites combining the Dorsett Suite and the Dorsett Studio.
It also has two restaurants, a spa with sauna and gym and business travel and meeting rooms. Though the Pavilion Spa and Chinese restaurant are yet to open, the airy brasserie with terrace on the ground floor is already open to local diners.
Dorsett Shepherd's Bush, which has created around 100 local jobs, is Dorsett Hospitality International's first hotel in the United Kingdom and Europe. The company already runs 18 hotels in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
Says General Manager Hilary Cross: " I am delighted to be part of this extremely exciting London Hotel launch within the vibrant area of Shepherd's Bush. Dorsett Shepherds Bush will offer easy access to numerous facilities and activities within the local area as well as fantastic transport links to the rest of London.
" Dorsett Shepherd's Bush will be a hotel where British charm meets Asian hospitality and we look forward to introducing Dorsett Hotels & Resorts to the UK."
