McDonagh to appear in court today while accident victim Saboor remains in induced coma
Police officers investigating a collision in Shepherds Bush which left 13 year-old Saboor Gul with serious injuries have charged a man.
James McDonagh, 36, of Devonshire Hill Lane, Tottenham has been charged with:
- dangerous driving;
- failing to stop at the scene of an accident;
- failing to report an accident;
- driving with no insurance.
He will appear in custody today, October 22 at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court.
Meanwhile Saboor remains in an induced coma in hospital with his family at his bedside.
Police say on Saturday, October 17 shortly before 1.40pm, officers on foot patrol had attempted to speak to a man in Caxton Road, W12.
The man got into a light green Ford Focus, then drove off and collided with Saboor on Bulwer Street, W12.
The driver of the Ford Focus failed to stop at the scene. The car was found abandoned a short time later in nearby India Way.
The London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and continue to appeal for information.
