More luxury brands prepare to move into Westfield
Luxury accessories retailer Mulberry and the jeweller Tiffany & Co. have both signed up for prime locations in the Westfield shopping centre, which is due to open in just five months’ time.
According to Property Week, Mulberry has just taken a 1,331 sq ft store while Tiffany & Co. has taken 2,800 sq ft in The Village section of the shopping complex.
They join other upmarket brands such as Luis Vuitton, which is creating a 3,000 sq ft store in The Village - the centre’s premium area in the south eastern corner of the scheme.
Westfield says the area has been created “to house the world’s most prestigious luxury brands”.
The Village consists of around 200,000sq ft arranged across three levels: The ground floor (50,000sq ft) is dedicated to “the world’s best international and UK luxury brands”, level one (75,000 sq ft) will showcase “the world’s leading lifestyle brands and the best of British fashion” while level two (75,000 sq ft) will house a state-of-the-art gymnasium and spa.
Mulberry is famous for its iconic leather bags, such as The Bayswater and The Roxanne while jewellery designer to the stars, Tiffany & Co., whose flagship store is in New York’s Fifth Avenue, claims to have introduced “the engagement ring as we know it today”.
As construction work at Westfield continues apace, anchor stores Next and Debenhams, have already begun fitting out their premises, joining M&S and House of Fraser.
In the middle of the development, the Pavilion, with its roof made up of 3,361 glazing panels, is now complete, while escalators, balustrading and ceilings are being fitted in the malls, Westfield says.
The shopping complex is scheduled to open on 30 October.
