Shepherd's Bush's West 12 Shopping Centre has launched a Search for a Star and is calling on local musicians - whether soul singers, rappers, hip- hoppers, folk artists, rockers or rollers - to enter the competition.

The finalists will battle it out on October 30 in front of shoppers, who will choose the final winner.  The prize will be a half day in a top London recording studio where he or she will have the opportunity to produce a professional demo.

Musicians living in either Hammersmith, Fulham or Shepherd’s Bush are invited to submit a two minute sample of their talent. A panel of judges will then whittle the entries down to just five semi-finalists who will be invited to perform live at West 12 on Saturday October 29.

On Sunday October 30, two finalists will perform in front the crowds, who will choose the winner.

Gavin Waller, centre director at West 12 says: " We know there are lots of talented musicians living locally so we’re really excited about giving these people a platform to launch their career.

" With so many different styles of music making the charts at the moment from folk music to hip-hop, we’re expecting a diverse array of entries.

" We’re inviting people to support their local talent and join us for the showdown over the October half-term!"

Remember, the closing date for entries is Thursday October 20.

Entering the competition is simple. Send a two minute recording of your musical talent via mp3 file or DVD to the organisers (see submission procedure below).

To enter you must be:

A resident of West London

Over the age of 12-years-old (if you are under 18 we will require parental consent for you to perform live)

A musician, solo singer or band that does not currently have a record contract or is represented professionally through an agency. We want to help those whose talent is going unnoticed!

The music must be yours or your band’s performance – you cannot submit on behalf of someone else. Cover songs or your own work.

Only one submission per person/band

If selected for the semi-finals you must be available to perform on Saturday 29th October and possibly Sunday October 30 if you make it to the grand final!

Please email us a two minute recording of your talent in form of an mp3 file no larger than 20mb. On the email please provide us with your name, D.O.B, address and telephone number. Email:west12@pegasuspr.co.uk.

Recordings can be done via your phone or computer, please ensure that the video recording is clear so the judges can hear you at your best.
