Unity Day is back with a packed programme for all the family to enjoy for free with great acts, activities and stalls.
The event, now in its third year, will once again begin with a unity march from Shepherd's Bush Green at 11am on Sunday 10 June.
The procession will head down Goldhawk Road, through Hammersmith and into Ravenscourt Park where the celebration will be held from 12pm to 6.30pm.
“We’re delighted that we are holding another Unity Day so we can show how much we value our EU citizens and people of all backgrounds who make up our community,” said H&F Council Leader, Cllr Stephen Cowan.
H&F Council was the first council in the country to call for a second EU Referendum. The first Unity Day was held in 2016 after a rise in racist incidents following the Brexit vote.
This year it will feature a Unity Tree where people can display their stories in words and pictures throughout the day.
Highlights will include live music from the Mangrove Steelband a circus show from Albert and Friends Instant Circus, clowning from Ella The Great, workshops with Thread and Word and performances by Scariofunk.
Unity Day also brings to a close this year’s HF ArtsFest, now in its fifth year. It shines a light on the many performers, arts groups, charities, and other community groups in our borough and includes music, art exhibitions, walking tours, film screenings, drama, comedy readings, circus workshops and more.
